John JT Teller is Jax Teller's late father who appears as a voice over reading from his manuscript, The Life and Death of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way. He left a copy for Jax and another for his old friend Piney, another one of the First 9, with Clay Morrow, who founded the club. The manuscript contains JT's less violent vision for the future of the club and quotes many beat poets and writers. It guides many of Jax's decisions throughout the series and often serves as a framing device for episodes.Background: While on his motorcycle, JT was hit by a semi-truck on Nov. 11, 1993 and died two days later of his injuries. Jax has recently begun to think the death was suspicious because his father was a good rider. He served time in prison for gun running in the early 90s. In addition to Jax, he was father to Thomas Teller, who died when he was six years old of a congenital heart defect. Along with other of the club, JT spent time in Belfast, Ireland in the mid-80s, and he left secrets there. Show less «
