Dr. Edmond Zuwanie is the president of the Republic of Matobo. When he was younger, Zuwanie fought to overthrow Matobo's then-corrupt government, and became the new leader of Matobo. However Zuwanie began to change after he assumed power and began to inflict the same autrocities on his own people like mining roads (which caused the death of Syliva Broome's parents and younger sister). Shortly before the movie, Zuwanie committed an act of genocide aganst his own people. The International Criminal Court wanted to try Zuwanie for crimes against humanity. Zuwanie planned to address the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York in order to stave off the charges against him by claiming to initiate Democratic reforms in Matobo. Show less «
